We want you to get the best possible use of our QFLEA community. There are many services that are provided through your participation in QFLEA. This page explains how you can use each of those services to support your business operations. Take a few minutes and read through the various services we offer. Most of them are offered to our members at no cost. There are a few services that do involve a small fee, but they are optional and not a requirement of your membership.

THE YAHOOGROUP

The QFLEA YahooGroup can be used to access the message archive, post new messages, read current messages, and access all the YahooGroup features, including files, links, the database and any polls/surveys from the group. You need a Yahoo ID in order to access the YahooGroup website. You can obtain a Yahoo ID here. You can also send messages to the QFLEA group by sending them to QFLEA@YahooGroups.com but be sure to send them ONLY from the e-mail address with which you subscribed. Using any other e-mail address will cause your message to be rejected.

In terms of subscribing, your best bet is to subscribe for individual messages. This group averages about five messages a day, which is not really much in the scheme of things. By subscribing for individual messages, you'll get all information in real time and can take advantage of special offers that come "first come, first served". Using the Daily Digest option you'll get all the postings from the prior day in one message today. The other options of Special Notices and No-Mail are not permitted for this group. Those who choosing Special Notices or No-Mail will be unsubscribed from the QFLEA group.

THE NEWSLETTER

QFLEA provides a newsletter for shoppers, the QFLEA Shopping News. We try to provide information about you, the vendor, along with some humorous items, all published in a newsletter designed to be read in about four minutes. Information about the newsletter, including some old copies, can be accessed here. You can submit advertising for the newsletter (and even a spotlight article on your and your business) at no cost, provided that you are also a subscriber to the newsletter, by visiting here.

THE FIND FEATURE

Unique to QFLEA, we offer a FIND [Fleamarket Internal Navigation Device] feature as a premium option for our members who wish to participate. It's our own search engine that our members can enter into for a small fee. There is a FIND box on the main page and each neighborhood page. Starting in 2006, we will also be including a FIND search box right into our QFLEA Shopping News. If interested, please feel free to ask me about it. You can contact us anytime and I will send you our "dreaded form letter" with all the information.

THE BUSINESS SUPPORT PAGE

QFLEA maintains a Business Support Page with links to a variety of helpful websites for members. The general topics include Using the QFLEA YahooGroup, Web Hosting Companies, Domain Name Sellers, Web Design Companies, Merchant Accounts, Search Engine Optimization Services, Business Mailing Services, Recommended Books for Business, Developing Your Website, Developing Your Business, Government Sites and Latest Business News. We try to keep it updated and invite you to make suggestions that should be included.

BANNERS AND BUTTONS

A variety of banners and buttons are available for you to add to your websites, with a link back to QFLEA. Exchanging links, if done correctly, helps us both in our positiins with the search engines. Choose any banner or button that fits with the design of your website. If you don't like any of them, a text link back to QFLEA is still a good idea.

SPECIALS

We oftens have specials running for holidays and other times, and often we invite our members to participate. That invitation always comes through a message from the YahooGroup. There are at least three or four per year, and they are all free, except for the Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanzaa special. That holiday special is also a fund-raiser for QFLEA and there is a nominal charge for advertising on the holiday special. Details on participating in the holiday special are always posted to the group sometime during the summer.
