Designs with Fabric and Thread

My interest in sewing began as a little girl when I started making clothes for my dolls. One of my childhood treasures is a handcrank toy Singer sewing machine. From high school Home Economics I learned how to make blouses, skirts, and dresses. My passion for sewing was launched.
Many times it seemed purchased patterns or books were confusing and left out steps. My tailoring and finishing skills were also limited. Over the years sales clerks have watched as I examined garments to learn the industry's tailoring and fabric piecing techniques.
Designing from a drawing, to a pattern, making prototypes from scraps and then finally the finished product, makes all the time spent worthwhile.
Friends and fellow employees who received my handmade items, inspired and urged me to start a business. Early retirement has given me the opportunity to start a website offering handmade, and in some instances, one-of-a-kind creations which I hope the recipients will enjoy for many years to come.
My new journey into the world of cyberspace and the web has been frustrating, educational, and enjoyable. I have met some wonderful people along the way, young and old, who have inspired and educated me. So far, it has been an amazing trip.
