Act as the Chief Executive Officer for QFLEA.com - The Virtual Flea Market and stewart of the QFLEA brand on a voluntary basis without compensation.
Advocate on behalf of all activities related to QFLEA.
Maintain all contracts, arrangements and relationships with other companies, services, vendors and individuals.
Purchase all supplies, equipment and services needed to maintain the operation.
Maintain the registration for all domain names related to the QFLEA brand.
Provide information, motivation, guidance, vision and inspiration to QFLEA members as needed.
Evaluate websites submitted by members for potential inclusion in the QFLEA Virtual Flea Market.
Manage a quality assurance program to assure that all aspects of the QFLEA.com website are functional and operating appropriately.
Check the links to the vendors to assure that they are active and functional.
Alert and work with vendors whose sites might be down temporarily.
Write HTML code for the site as needed.
Write to the blog section as needed, and encourage other members to provide content.
Add pages for special sales and promotions during the year.
Revise and upload updated sitemaps to search engines to provide current site information.
Monitor all relevant site statistics.
Update data based on changes to member websites and other information, i.e. e-mail addresses, etc.
Make changes to member information in the FIND database.
Continuously optimize all pages in the website to assure high rankings in the search engines.
Design all graphics for use on the QFLEA website.
Approve, reject or investige new membership requests.
Moderate all messages posted to the YahooGroup.
Assure that members are subscribed according to the terms of service.
Check the databases to assure that only active member information remains.
Monitor for bouncing e-mail addresses and alert members that need to correct their bouncing status.
Monitor the management functions of the YahooGroup to watch for potential spammers, unwanted members or members who are having difficulty using the group functions.
Create new databases for members as needed.
Create, monitor and close polls for members as needed.
Maintaining and updating the membership lists.
Recruit new vendors to QFLEA using online and offline methods.
Write, edit and publish the QFLEA Shopping News.
Solicit advertising and other content for the QFLEA Shopping News.
Strive to continually increase the subscriber base for the QFLEA Shopping News.
Submit, maintain and update QFLEA information on all search engines, databases, directories and advertising sites.
Represent QFLEA at real world flea markets for the purpose of marketing to shoppers and recruiting vendors.
Write and submit press releases as appropriate.
Establish relationships leading to the placement of QFLEA links online and marketing materials offline.
Maintain an adequate supply of business cards, brochures and flyers to support marketing efforts.
Distribute flyers to all areas in the community with bulletin boards and make the flyer available to members through the YahooGroup.
Search for new avenues to market and advertise QFLEA, both online and offline.
Maintain an open line of communications with the vendors for any questions, ideas, comments, problems, etc.
Encourage mutual support and cooperation between vendors by providing programs such as the message board of the YahooGroup, databases, link exchanges, product discounts, business card exchanges, site critique programs and other programs that enhance communication and support between vendors.
Respond to all questions from shoppers and vendors within 24 hours.
Communicate shopper needs to the vendors through the use of the YahooGroup or other means as appropriate.
Use polls, questionnaires and other devices to elicit feedback from shoppers and vendors to continuously improve operations.
Establish relationships on non-QFLEA YahooGroup and other business forums and lists so as to provide information about QFLEA where appropriate.
Develop the annual budget for QFLEA.
Pay all expenses for the QFLEA and related websites.
Maintain the accounting systems for QFLEA including tracking all expenses and revenues.
Send renewal notices for all subscribers to the FIND program.
Maintain and update the Google Adsense program.
Provide additional funding as needed to compensate for deficits in the QFLEA operation.
If this hobby ever actually makes any money, pay the annual income taxes from any profits.
Maintain the integrity of all components of the computer systems.
Maintain and utilize the current definitions of Anti-Virus software.
Manage the storage space issues for all QFLEA files on the hard drive.
Back up all files.
Keep applicable software up-to-date and functional, including e-mail, FTP programming, all browsers, anti-virus programs, etc.
