The Village of Nyack is a residential and commercial retail community located on the shore of the Hudson River in Rockland County, New York. It is twenty five miles north of New York City and less than one mile north of the Tappan Zee Bridge. Nyack is a “go to” destination for New York metro area residents, as well as out of towners, looking for antiques, quaint shops, fine restaurants, exciting entertainment, boating, hiking and bike riding. Seasonal festivals, street fairs, parades and a farmer’s market also are a big draw.

Twice a year, in the spring and the fall, the Village of Nyack is host to the Nyack Street Fair. This street fair is a semi-annual tradition designed to showcase local vendors and community groups. It is always anticipated, well-attended and free to the public.

The fair winds it's way through several blocks of the main section of this charming little village, but is still a fairly easy walk. One can easily see all displays and booths over the course of the day. One of the special treats at this particular fair is that while checking out the vendors, one can also take some time for sight-seeing. There are many older homes lining the streets in Nyack that are architectural treasures. We were also able to check out many items for sale in Nyack's local shops. The area is filled with a variety of non-for-profit arts organizations and is home to the Edward Hopper House Art Center.

In our most recent visit, our tour through the various booths found a variety of jewelry, clothing, food, and home decor craftsmen proudly displaying their wares to the visitors. At each booth we approached, we were greeted politely and the vendors took time out to speak to us about their products and creations. Naturally, we enjoyed some delicious food samples at the booths. There were also some activities for children, some live street music and a fun and festive atmosphere.

Always using our visits to local fairs as an opportunity to recruit new vendors for QFLEA.com, we were glad to be able to speak with a number of vendors who expressed potential interest in becoming members. We left our information with many of them and hope to hear from them soon about joining and being listed.
