Nancy's Nuggets
These five individuals will not qualify for membership with MENSA.
I was at the airport, checking in at the gate, when an airport employee asked, "Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?" To which I replied, "If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?" He smiled knowingly and nodded, "That's why we ask."
The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it's safe to cross the street. I was crossing with an intellectually challenged co-worker of mine when she asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red. Appalled, she responded, "What on earth are blind people doing driving?!"
At a good-bye luncheon for an old and dear co-worker who was leaving the company due to "downsizing," our manager commented, cheerfully, "This is fun. We should do this more often." Not a word
was spoken. We all just looked at each other with that "deer-in-the-headlights" stare.
I work with an individual who plugged her power strip back into itself and for the life of her couldn't understand why her system would not turn on.
When my husband and I arrived at an automobile dealership to pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driver's side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was
unlocked. "Hey," I announced to the technician, "it's open!" To which he replied, "I know - I already got that side"

Dog for Sale?
A guy is driving around Tennessee and he sees a sign in front of house: "Talking Dog For Sale." He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador
retriever sitting there.
"You talk?" he asks.
"Yep," the Lab replies.
"So, what's your story?"
The dog looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was a pup. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years."
"But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals."
"I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired."
The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog. "Ten dollars," the guy says.
"Ten dollars? This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?"
"Because he's a liar. He never did any of that stuff!."

Vendor Spotlight: Talina Norris
Starting an online business has been a great adventure so far! I got the urge to start an online business back in November 2005 while I was making candy ornaments for family and friends. I just dove right in and bought a website service and domain name, got things up and running and the learning process began!
I am a young entrepreneur who loves to experience life and learn things first hand. This business venture I have started has taught me so much about the business world and about myself. I have much to learn still and I am nowhere close to where I want to be but the journey is wonderful!
I just launched a brand new business blog and I am now offering message in a bottle gifts for romantic occasions. I am trying to make my products more all encompassing of the seasons and I am continuing to push myself to learn more everyday. Sometimes I feel discouraged and overwhelmed. Sometimes I am super pleased and proud.
Moving outside our comfort zones and stepping outside the box is necessary if we want to be the best at what we do. It is a rollercoaster journey but I think it is going to be well worth it in the end!
