Nancy is taking this week off, so Dwight has stepped in to assist us. Nancy will be rejoining us with our next edition. A first grade school teacher in Virginia had twenty-five students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the first half of a well known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. In the next few weeks, we'll be very busy building the 2006 QFLEA Holiday Extravanganza, a collection of gift-giving ideas from our QFLEA vendors that this year will be bigger and better than ever. We also know that many of our readers take summer vacations, we will take a small break now for a few weeks. Now, I know what you must be thinking. It's 106 degrees out there and the humidity is causing everything around you to droop, so why is Charley thinking about the holidays? Well, believe it or not, it takes about two months of pretty intense work to get this annual special ready. It starts today with the instructions being sent out to those vendors participating this year and will continue through the summer with website design, creation of graphics, promotion and more. It is always our hope to have the major work done by September 1. Then, September is dedicated to minor revisions, last minute adjustments and big time promotion so that we can launch October 1, 2006. So let me take this opportunity to with you all a very happy, safe, Fourth of July weekend, a wonderfully restful summer ... and also to be the first one to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, etc. |
