Nancy's Nuggets:
Why God Made Moms

"Why God made moms" answers given by elementary school age children to the following questions...

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What did Mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your Mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on her back.
3. I'd make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.

More Stupid Criminals

Joshua Shores, 34, a Subway restaurant employee in North Platte, Nebraska., who was allegedly caught on a surveillance video pocketing the $502 he was supposed to drop into the restaurant's safe, tried to tell police and a judge in August not to worry, that he is not a thief but an undercover CIA operative and that the agency would be reimbursing the money. (He said had lost his CIA badge, he said, which is why he was working at the Subway, waiting for the agency to send him a new one.)

R.C. Gaitlin, 21, walked up to two patrol officers who were showing their squad car computer equipment to children in a Detroit neighborhood. When he asked how the system worked, the officers asked him for a piece of identification. Gaitlin gave them his driver's license, they entered it into the computer, and moments later they arrested Gaitlin because information on the screen showed that Gaitlin was wanted for a two-year-old armed robbery in St. Louis, Missouri.

Donna DeVane

My business has evolved as my life has changed. I started doing Pow Wows and shows, then computers and online hit the scene and I made the switch. This has allowed me to stay at home with my daughter and to support her activities while enjoying my business in my own home. My jewelry and doll creations are a direct result of my lifestyle choices.

I share my joy in my creations and offer them online to enhance other's lives. My daughter gets in the act by helping to string beads and inspiration for the dolls.

Since 1996 when I first started my online business I have seen many changes and met many wonderful people that would not have been in my life otherwise. The internet is a blessing for single moms, allowing a life free to pursue dreams and opportunities.

Final Thought

Some people ask the secret of our long marriage. We take time to go to a restaurant two times a week. A little candlelight, dinner, soft music and dancing. She goes Tuesdays, I go Fridays ... Henny Youngman
