Dorm Rules
On the first day of college, the dean addresses the students pointing out some of the rules. "The female dormitory will be out-of-bounds for all male students, so too the male dormitory to the female students. Anybody caught breaking this rule will be fined $20 the first time. Anybody caught breaking this rule the second time will be fined $60. Being caught a third time will incur a hefty fine of $180. Are there any questions?
To this, a male student in the crowd inquires: "How much for a season pass?"

Vendor Spotlight: An Occasional Chocolate
I once was asked how I got started in this line of work. Easy answer... 3 words: "You MADE that????" When I made a basket of 4 flavored truffles and gave them to neighbors and friends and family, they all said the same thing! They were so impressed with me, which is always a good thing. They were amazed that the truffles looked just like the ones in the chocolate shops. They could hardly believe how incredible they tasted! When I told them how EASY truffle making is, they couldn t believe me!
I started teaching friends and family how to make the candy, including molds and dipped fruits and other fun creations. I went to a class that a local person was teaching. Then I knew... I can do this! I can teach people to do this! Its so fun, and it s my passion! What s better than to work with your deeply rooted passion!
I had experience in web design and graphic design from years past, so half of the battle was over. Making a web site and making it great was easy! Once I realized I was going to start a business, the sleepless nights and the THINKING came. Many, many nights of not being able to sleep because I was so excited! Ideas flowing into my head like a faucet! (Or shall I say, like a chocolate fountain!) The name, An Occasional Chocolate, came to me at 3AM and I knew I was in trouble.
I gathered 3 other professionals who had the same passion as me, and we brainstormed for months. We got busy researching products, gaining ideas from the net, seeing what the competition might be. I found that there wasn't much in the way of information or products out there for beginners and intermediates. It seemed that you either had to read an over-your-head web site, which was too intimidating, or you had to really dig deep to find different ways to do things. I knew I could help people make these beautiful treats, and help them get as excited as I was! I can offer all the really hard to find ingredients AND teach them how to use them. I can help people hear those wonderful words, "You MADE that???"
An Occasional Chocolate's goals are to:
* Make the art of candy making friendly and approachable.
* Enable customers to make candy easily, enjoyably and inexpensively, so that anyone can have fantastic results and give beautiful gifts.
* Provide the best quality ingredients so our customers can be proud of what they made.
* Provide honest, friendly customer service just like it used to be years ago.
* Offer a web site with a high ease-of-use standard.
* Offer many products on a special order basis to fulfill customers' needs.

A blind man walks in to a department store with his seeing eye dog on a leash. As usual the store manager behind the customer service counter looks up, notices the customer is blind, and not wanting to stare quickly looks away again. Out of the corner of his eye the manager sees the blind man start swinging the dog over his head with its leash. Shocked, the manager runs over and says "Mister is there a problem - is there anything I can help you with?" The blind man calmly replies "No thanks - I'm just looking around."
This duck walks into a convenience store and asks the clerk, "Do you have any grapes?" The clerk says no, and the duck leaves. The next day, the duck returns and asks, "Do you have any grapes?" The clerk again says no, and the duck leaves. The day after that, the duck walks in the store again and asks "Do you have any grapes?" The clerk screams at the duck, "You've come in here the past two days and asked if we had any grapes. I told you no every time that we don't have any grapes! I swear if you come back in here again, and ask for grapes, I'll nail your webbed feet to the floor!!" The duck left, and returned the next day. This time he asked, "Do you have any nails?" The clerk replied, "No," and the duck said, "Good! Got any grapes?"
Final Thought
For my birthday I got a humidifier and a de-humidifier. I put them in the same room and let them fight it out ...
