How to Submit a Spotlight Story

You can write a story about yourself and your business for our QFLEA Shopping News.

You can use our FIND feature to search for anything at the QFLEA flea market. Our high quality, one-of-a-kind, handcrafted and personalized FINDs are waiting to be found!

The person who can best tell your story is you. After all, is there anyone who knows more about you and your business than you? The QFLEA Shopping News provides an opportunity for you to tell that story. Here's how to do it.

First of all, you need to know that the QFLEA Shopping News is a newsletter published 15 times each year and sent out to a Yahoo Group entitled QFLEA-ShoppingNews. The newsletter is sent to all the members of this particular Yahoo Group. If you wish to submit a spotlight story, or free advertising, you need to be a member of this group. You can do that by clicking http://groups.yahoo.com/group/qflea-shoppingnews.

Now that you are a subscriber, in order to submit a spotlight story about yourself, you need to visit http://www.qflea.com/submitads.htm where you will see three colored sections. The pink section contains the deadline and publication dates for this years publications. The yellow section contains the form for submitting free advertising. The purple section contains the form for submitting your spotlight story.

What is a spotlight story? It's a story written by you, about you. It's an opportunity to tell the world about an aspect of your business, such as, how you got started, why you create the particular products that you create, something that you did that is unique or different, or anything that isn't a just plain advertisement - which goes in the yellow section. (I think you're getting the hang of it now.)

So why do this? Here's why. The QFLEA Shopping News is read by those in the Yahoo Group and they can get to know a little about you. In addition, the newsletter gets indexed into the search engines and becomes another way for shoppers to find you. These newsletters are still in the search engines years after publication. That means there is another quality link to your website that is out there helping you.

It does not take very long to write one. The perfect size is somewhere around 200 words. Many of you have "About Me" pages on your sites and that's actually a pretty good place to get started. So why not give it a shot? You have absolutely nothing to lose by taking this free opportunity to tell the world about yourself.
